The Blob: Ciaran's Journal
Welcome to my journal. This is where I'll be revealing my innermost thoughts and feelings to the world. Occasionally I'll talk about other stuff, but mostly about my experiences. Jun 14, 2003: The 5,000 Question Survey -- Part 2 (link | trackback: 0) Time: 19:22 - Mood: Happy - Location: Home - Now playing: Nothing Okay, here's my next instalment of questions to take me up to question 50... 11. Does your life suck? Not really. Some small bits do, but overall life has generally been very good to me. 12. Does your life get better or worse each day? Or does it just stay the same? Generally I'd say that it stays the same. It all depends on what's happening. 13. Does time really heal all wounds? I think so, but sometimes it's very hard to believe. 14. How do you handle a rainy day? By staying inside and going on the computer. Same as I handle a non-rainy day, really. *shrugs* (yes, I'm a bit of a nerd) 15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights? Losing your luggage. Losing stuff that's important to you is much worse than just having to cope with lights that have gone everywhere. 16. How is your relationship with your parents? I'm very lucky - I have two wonderful parents, but that doesn't mean that they spoil me. They know when to dish out punishments. :) But they're loving and caring. I just realised I didn't actually answer the question of my relationship with them. I'd say that sometimes it's really nice, but sometimes it can all get rather stroppy. Same with a lot of teenagers, I guess, even though I'm technically not a teenager. (Blah, 21 isn't that much older) 17. Will you miss them when they are gone? Yes. I'm going to miss them very much. They've guided me through a lot of things. 18. How do you want to make your living? Haven't I already answered this?... mmm, looks sorta like question 7. But, oh well. 19. How do you want to make your life? Not quite sure what's meant by this question, so I'll treat it as if it means "What would you like to do with your life?" (which is different from question 7 and 18), and say that I want to do something I enjoy with people I like. But I guess that's obvious. :) 20. Has life ever given you a second chance and how? Yes. When I became a Christian, it signaled the start of a new chance in life for me. Before then, I didn't really know what it was all about, really. 21. Are you more of a giver or a taker? Probably more of a taker. I do like giving stuff, but I probably take more. 22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart? I try. I don't like being narrow-minded, and I look forward to doing things generally. 23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you? Probably falling of the back of a chair when I was about 5. I had to go into hospital and have plaster around my arm. I can't remember much of it though, and I can't remember the pain, but that must have been the most physically painful thing. If you want the most painful thing I can remember, then I don't really know. My arm was pretty painful a couple of weeks ago, but it's probably not the most painful thing ever that I can remember. I'd have to think about it. 24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you? Hmm... probably when I split up with Louise, my first girlfriend (I've only ever had 2). We loved each other a lot, but we had to go our separate ways. I still talk to her, though, and hope to meet her again soon. 25. Who have you hugged today? In real life? Nobody. :/ Online, mostly everyone in RinkChat. I don't get enough hugs really... 26. Who has hugged you? Again, in real life, and if you mean today, nobody. In RinkChat, quite a few people. 27. Do you have a lot to learn? Yes. Getting through life is all about learning. There's a lot of things about this life and about God that I need to learn. 28. If you could learn how to do three things just by wishing and not by working what would they be? Mmm... now this is a good question... a. Probably how to make people happy. It would be nice to just wish and see happiness on another's face. b. Programming large things on the computer. It'd be nice to just wish for a program and have it there, no matter how big it was. c. Working out answers to these questions. ;p 29. Which do you remember the longest: what other people say, what other people do or how other people make you feel? How other people make me feel. Feelings aren't something you can forget easily. 30. What are the key ingrediants to having a good relationship? At the risk of sounding cliched... love, life and laughter. Knowing the other person well helps, too. 31. What 3 things do you want to do before you die? I want to have someone I love again, I want to take part in programming a demo which wins first place at one of the big party compos, and... I don't really know of a third one. Probably to make lots of people happy. 32. What three things would you want to die to avoid doing? I'm really not sure. There must be something, but I can't think what. 33. Is there a cause you believe in more than any other cause? Yes. Again, it's probably making people happy. A lot of people aren't happy. And in a similar vein to Krissy, I think that the treatment by most people of mentally and physically handicapped people is awful. People need to be made aware of how it makes them (or should I say us - I have a mild cerebral palsy) feel. 34. What does each decade make you think of: I can't really answer all of these. I'm not too keen on history. In fact, I don't think I can think of much, except for that 1960s quote "You've never had it so good". 35. Which decade do you feel you belong in and why? Definitely this decade. We're going through a fantastic era of technological changes, and I, for one, and very glad to be here at this time. 36. What is your favorite oldie/classic rock song? I like quite a few old rock songs, but I'd say "Born To Be My Baby" by Bon Jovi is a GREAT one. Okay, so it's not too old, but, eh. It's old enough. ;p 37. If you could say any sentance to the president of the usa what would it be? "Erm. Hello." (okay, so I'm hard at thinking up these things) 38. What's your favorite tv channel to watch in the middle of the night? Ahem. This one isn't too applicable for me, given that here in the UK most of us are still stuck with 4 channels, or 5 if we're lucky to be in an area serviced by Channel 5, and none of the channels specialises in anything in particular. So instead I'll tell you what type of programme I like to watch in the middle of the night, and I would reckon that'd be adventure of some sort. I like 'em. 39. What Disney villain are you the most like and why? I haven't watched too many Disney movies, plus I don't think many people like to think of themselves as villains. ;) 40. Have you ever been a girlscout/boyscout? Yes, I was a Boy Scout once. A few people made fun of me, though. I think I quit because it just wasn't that interesting to me. 41. If you were travelling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat? I'd want to take a boat. I love going on ferries and such, and while planes are nice, there's not a whole lot you can do in them. I've seen the ground from above loads of times already. 42. Why is the sky blue during the day and black at night? The atmosphere. Can't remember all the details though, so I'll steal Krissy's answer and say it's because I turn the lamp off. :D 43. What does your name mean? "Ciaran" means "small and black". That's what my parents thought I was going to be (the "black" referring to the hair), but of course I proved them wrong on both counts. Heh. 44. Would you rather explore the deeps of the ocean or outerspace? When I first saw this, I immediately thought "outer space", but now I think about it, I'd probably much rather explore the deeps of the ocean. There isn't too much in space - starts, other planets, and I bet the lack of gravity is a novelty. But there's so much in our own oceans that most of us don't know. But I may change my mind in the future. Heh. 45. Word association air: molecules meat: monkey (those in RinkChat will know why) different: same pink: red deserve: don't get white: black elvis: presley cilantro: huh? heart: head clash: bang pulp: fiction 46a. If you could meet any person who is dead and famous who would you want it to be? I have no idea. 46b. What if you could meet anyone alive and famous? Hey, this is going to turn out to be a 5,001 question survey. :D Anyway, I'd probably like to meet Bill Gates. Can't think of anyone else. 47. Is there a movie that you love so much you could watch it everyday? Not really. I like savouring in the storyline of a film, and I couldn't do that if I watched it every day. 48. You are going to be stuck alone in an elevator for a week. What do you bring to do? My Gameboy Advance, my laptop, some music/game CDs, and lots of food. Heck, I don't want to starve in an elevator. 49. What one cd would you bring to listen to for that week (no mixed cd's..must be an album)? If it must be an album from one artist... then probably This Is Your Time by Michael W. Smith. [back to main screen] |
