The Blob: Ciaran's Journal
Welcome to my journal. This is where I'll be revealing my innermost thoughts and feelings to the world. Occasionally I'll talk about other stuff, but mostly about my experiences. Are you looking for the journal code? 5 entries shown (most recent first):
Apr 24, 2003: Technical Stuff (link | trackback: 0) Time: 15:27 - Mood: Happy - Location: Internet Cafe - Now playing: Not sure... I've just been (well, it's been over an hour since it finished, but, yeah) to a seminar about technical issues and the church. It was really fscinating. For example, did you know that apparently, the most readable colour scheme is yellow text on a blue background? We always used white text on a black background in our church. I'll have to experiment with that - obviously not necessarily in the service, but I'll talk about it with the other techies. It also gave me a thought on what I can do with my PowerPointPlay program (a program I wrote which lets you create a playlist of songs and switch between songs easily - ideal for church situations). It gave me a couple of ideas for macros too, to make it easier to enter song text. Personally, I think it was cool. I have about 3 minutes left here, so I'll end off now. One thing I didn't realise was that you can store up your minutes over sessions, so I might do that later. See ya. :) Apr 23, 2003: Yay for Spring Harvest! (link | trackback: 0) Time: 12:18 - Mood: Happy - Location: Internet Cafe - Now playing: Not sure... Well, I'm blogging this entry live from Spring Harvest in Skegness. It's really good so far. Today's Day 2, but Day 1 was only half a day. I've just been at the Evolution Zone, which is meant for those aged 17-25. It was cool - we split up into different zones; I went to the meditation/reflection one. The worship here is really great, too. If you get up early enough, you can go to Good Morning Big Top, which is actually a pretty neat way to start the day - worshipping God for all He's worth. Yay! I'd say more, but I only booked in for 10 minutes in this so-called "Café" (it's not really, you don't eat anything), so I'll sign off now. I'll say more tomorrow. :D Apr 18, 2003: Yay! (link | trackback: 0) Time: 12:40 - Mood: Happy - Location: Home - Now playing: Bonnie Tyler - I Need A Hero Thanks, whoever you are. I love this song. :D I think it may be James, but I'm not quite sure. They followed a link from that page, anyway. :) Apr 18, 2003: Choose what I listen to! (link | trackback: 0) Time: 09:08 - Mood: Happy - Location: Home - Now playing: Steven Curtis Chapman - With Hope I've just made a little CGI script that allows people on the Internet to choose what I listen to. It's a web interface to xmms, and it's quite possibly one of the most useless things I've done. But hey, I like it. :) So, go to http://ciaran.no-ip.com/~ciaran/mp3play.cgi and choose for yourself what my playlist contains. :) Note that it'll only work when xmms is actually running, which means that if I don't want to listen to music at the time (or if I'm asleep), xmms won't pop up and surprise me. :) If xmms is running but has stopped playback, adding a song to the playlist will restart it for you. Have fun. And please don't request the same song millions of times in a row. I'll delete any extra entries from the playlist. :) Apr 11, 2003: Blogrolling stuff... (link | trackback: 0) Time: 11:12 - Mood: Happy - Location: Home - Now playing: Various random XMs Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed the little button at the bottom of my pages (it's been there for nearly two weeks now, shame on you), I'm listed on BlogShares. And in fact, I seem to be valued pretty highly, at $8,306.78 as of right now. I don't really know why, but it's pretty neat, knowing that I'm ranked #127 in the top 500 weblogs. I guess I really should start posting more... |
